  • Juice from a half medium sized lemon
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 slices, a quarter thick inch of fresh ginger
  • A half table spoon of turmeric
  • A quarter teaspoon of cloves
  • 1 tbsp raw, natural honey, you can add more to achieve your preferred sweetness.
  • A pinch of cayenne


  1. Add the ingredients apart from the honey in a pot and mix well.
  2. Place the pot on medium heat and bring it to boil then reduce the heat to allow the mixture simmer.
  3. Now add the honey and mix well. Taste to ensure you have achieved your desired sweetness
