Failing at losing weight when you have been constantly working out and following a diet to the letter can be frustrating. It is more frustrating when people know you are on a diet, exercises and the gym and you may even be gaining weight instead of losing it. So let us evaluate possible reasons why you are not losing weight.
1. You don’t eat breakfast
If you are looking to lose weight do not skip breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of your day. It helps reduce hunger and consequently reduces the amount of snacking that you do during other times of the day. You are therefore less likely to overeat.Eating breakfast increases you energy during the day. It also keeps you on the right health diet track all day.
2. You don’t drink enough water
Except the drink water before meals to keep yourself feeling full so you don’t overeat, water also increases your metabolic rate. The increased metabolic rate then enable your body to burn more fat. Research study done on 7 obese men and women who drunk at least 8 glasses of water and 7 normal sized men and women who drunk less water but exercised more revealed that water helpsyou loose almost as much or more weight than exercising. Imagine what the combo can do.
3. You over eat even healthy foods
The fact that you are stress eating fruits and vegetables and no pizza and cakes does not mean you will not gain weight. Healthy foods also contain fats and sugar that, if take in excess, will be stored in the body as fat. This will make whatever exercise regime you have be counterproductive. So remember to eating proportions and just the amount that is enough.
4. You are using the wrong diet
There is no telling the amount of damage that can be because when you are not eating the right diet and trying to lose weight. A wrong diet may end up hurting your aims in the long run where instead of losing weight you start gaining it.
5. You are not getting enough sleep
When you are not getting enough sleep you tend to feel very tired. This may tempt you to drink a large latte or skip exercising. Lack of sleep tends to affect you brain and push it towards making the wrong decisions. Researchers have found that people who sleep less tend to eat more. Talk about counterproductive! Therefore spare some time and have 8 hours of sleep each day.
6. You only do cardio and not fitness exercises
Cardio is only one part of the weight loss plan. Cardio may help you lose some weight but it will not get you to the goal you are hoping to achieve. While it may feel like you are working hard you are only increasing your blood circulation. It is therefore important that you do some weight training too. And when doing cardio, try running longer and faster not just longer.
7. You eat junk and drink sodas
When loosing weigh no one asks you to completely stay away from junk food, you are asked to downside. If you are trying to lose weight and still eat the same way you did before then you are not helping yourself. So eat just one candy bar or one soda a week, with time your body will get used to your new diet and you won’t crave anymore.
8. You don’t have other activities
Yes you are following your strict diet and yes you are exercising two hours everyday but you sit behind a desk all day therefore the only exercising you do is moving you mouth or hands. This is not helpful in loosing weight, so try walking once a day.
9. You exercise on an empty stomach
Most people go to the gym before taking breakfast. What they do not realize is that when you go to the gym on an empty stomach you come out hungrier and end up eating more food than you would have. So try taking a light snack before hitting the gym.
10. You’re at the wrong post work out snack
I recently read a post that there’s nothing like exercise to make you feel like eating that pizza. After exercising it is important that you eat the right snack, a healthy protein filled snack.
